Environmental protection and sustainability
• Both manufacturing sites, sfm medical devices GmbH and safemed medical devices s.r.o., are certified in accordance with ISO 14.001 (Downloads).
• sfm medical devices GmbH had its CO2 emissions determined by external experts in a corporate carbon footprint for the first time in 2022. The many years of activities and investments as well as the district heating purchase are reflected in comparatively very low emissions, see Report 2023. CO2 emissions were further reduced significantly in 2024, as sfm uses 100% green electricity.
• sfm will prepare a sustainability report for the first time for the year 2025. In order to meet the legal requirements under the new EU CSRD guidelines, sfm is working with external consultants on a sustainability strategy. The dual materiality analysis has already been prepared as part of this project.
• As a member of the Sponsors' Association, sfm is guided by the B.A.U.M - Codex for Sustainable Management and ensures its implementation.
