Our manufacturing expertise

Production and finishing: the focus of our many years of experience.

The production and refinement of sophisticated disposable medical devices is our core competence. We offer our customers decades of experience from numerous national and international projects. We maintain close personal contact with our customers in all project phases – from the initial product sketch to the selection of suitable materials, optimal product design, production engineering, and product registration – in every detail.

Complex metalworking

Founded as a precision metal processing shop, sfm developed to specialize in cannula and needle production becoming a leading partner for high-quality single use medical devices. The processing and finishing of tubes, metal fittings, and solid materials is in the companies’ genes.

Injection molding and overmolding

Plastics have proved to be an indispensable material in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industry. Their durability and formability allow them to be used in a wide variety of sensitive human applications. Consequently, the handling and processing of the material must conform to the highest standards of regulation.

Assembly of medical devices

The metal and plastic components are assembled using a wide variety of methods that have to be mastered. We have become proficient in the field and are constantly expanding our expertise in this and other areas! Joining processes are complemented by various surface finishing and separating processes. Quality assurance with state-of-the-art systems supports our mission to manufacture premium products.

Professional packaging

Packaging plays an important role for sterile medical devices and fulfills various functions. Aside from protecting against environmental influences, whether physical, chemical, and biological, the packaging conveys important product information. Product sterility also must be assured until the packaging is opened. State-of-the-art machines and camera systems are employed for quality assurance. Sophisticated packaging concepts support the user in using the product. We combine a variety of competencies to offer a full range of services in this production department as well.

EO sterilization

Ethylene oxide sterilization (EO or ETO) is one of the most common methods for sterilizing medical devices and instruments. With this method, the products are exposed to ethylene oxide in a sealed vacuum chamber. ETO sterilization is a chemical process with four main variables: gas concentration, humidity, temperature, and time.
