Implantation cannula for contraceptives

Implantation cannula are specialized, minimally invasive, medical devices used to deliver an implant to a specific area of the body. Though used in a variety of procedures, they are typically used for subcutaneous placement of contraceptives. Another application field is for the implanting localization makers for the surgical removal of breast cancer. 


Customer requirement:

Bayer Healthcare AG required a special cannula for placement of a contraceptiva implant under the skin. 


Our solution:

Working closely with our customers, we were able to develop an easy-to-use implantation cannula. Highly visible tube markings, sharp bevel, and optimized tactile feel of the cannula holder and plunger allowed for safe and easy placement of multiple drug implants by a qualified medical professional.
